WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The United States Senate takes a procedural step forward on the agenda of reducing comprehensive taxes for President Donald Trump on Thursday, and overcame fears between some Republican legislators that the plan does not include sufficient spending discounts.
The Senate voted 52-48 to move forward in the framework of working to address Trump’s proposals for tax discounts, border enforcement and increase military spending, which non-party analysts warn against adding $ 5.8 trillion to federal government debts during the next decade.
The legislators hope to pass the decision after up to 50 hours of discussion, and send it to the Republican House of Representatives.
