WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The United States Senate takes a procedural step forward on the agenda of reducing comprehensive taxes for President Donald Trump on Thursday, and overcame fears between some Republican legislators that the plan does not include sufficient spending discounts.

The Senate voted 52-48 to move forward in the framework of working to address Trump’s proposals for tax discounts, border enforcement and increase military spending, which non-party analysts warn against adding $ 5.8 trillion to federal government debts during the next decade.

The legislators hope to pass the decision after up to 50 hours of discussion, and send it to the Republican House of Representatives.

Both Councils must approve the same budget decision to cancel a major parliamentary tool that would allow Republicans to circumvent Democrats in the Senate and the age of Trump’s agenda later this year. This may take several months.

A vote on Thursday came a day after the White House guaranteed Republicans in Congress that Trump supported their desire to include deep spending discounts in the draft law.

The Senate Budget Committee’s plan estimates the cost of expanding the 2017 tax discounts, as well as providing new promises to get rid of taxes on advice, additional work and retirement payments for social security, at $ 1.5 trillion over a decade. This is much lower than the cost of $ 4.5 trillion, estimated at the home passing scheme in February.

The estimates of the cost of the Senate and the House of Representatives vary because Republicans in the Senate intend to use a controversial approach that claims that the extension of the 2017 tax cuts will not add to the country’s debts.

The Great Republic of the Senate John Thun, from South Dakota, is gathering in front of his Republican colleagues to address concerns about this controversial approach. Republican Senator John Corn from Texas, who attended the closed door meeting, said that the leaders made concerns, including whether the Republicans would try to cancel Parliament in the Senate and the Chamber Gateway to the rules, if this step was subsequently opposed in the year when the Trump agenda legislation reaches the Senate.

“I think the answer to this is,” no, “Corn told reporters.

The Senate scale also calls for an increase of $ 5 trillion in the borrowing limit of the debt of $ 36.6 trillion, which Republicans say will prevent the issue from leaving again even after the 2026 academic renewal elections.

The Senate scheme contains an ambitious goal of reducing $ 2 trillion in spending from local programs that increased during the Covid pandemic, as a way to win the support of the House of Representatives.

But the Republicans in the House of Representatives expressed doubts about the plan, noting the goals of the implementable spending, which seeks only a few billion dollars in spending discounts.

Democrats have warned that legislators would have difficulty achieving the goal of $ 2 trillion without reducing it in the Medicaid health insurance plan for low -income Americans.

The non -party committee of the responsible federal budget estimated that the Senate Budget scale could add about 5.8 trillion dollars to the American debt in the next decade.

Non -party budgets estimated that the adoption of all Trump’s tax proposals may cost up to $ 11 trillion.
