After 14 years of evolution within IMICONDUCTOR GIANT Intel, Realseense draws his attention on his own.
RealSense The cameras that use stereotypes, a process that combines two forms of the same object from different angles to create depth, reinforced with infrared light. This technology helps machines such as robots, drones, and self -judging vehicles to a better perception of the material world around them. Technology is also used for facial approval.
“The common denominator for all of them is that they live in the real material world,” said Nadaf Urbach, CEO of Techcrunch. “They need to understand the surrounding 3D areas, and accordingly, properly take action and planning in the world. Therefore, they need an actual time capacity, highly accurate to understand the 3D ocean. This is what we do better.”
Orbach joined Intel again in 2006 as an architect of the CPU. Working on vision technology began in 2011 before the Director General of Civilization and Swimming Innovation became in 2022 and moving to San Francisco last year.
“We knew and understood that the 3D perception would be great,” Urbach said about the first days of RealSense. “To be honest, we were not completely sure in any field. We have tried this across the different market sectors and different applications, along the way to identify gestures with computers and phones, until we really found our beautiful place over the years, most of them are robots.”
The company works with many industries outside robots as well. Urbach said they heard from fish farms looking to track the size inside the pens. Chipotle also use Realsense camerasIn partnership with the AI PrecitASTE software software, to track when food containers are low.
RealSense has more than 3000 customers and has witnessed an increase in new interest over the past three to four years with artificial intelligence improvement. However, Android applications have been limited, especially.
The company realized that it may have a better opportunity to keep pace with the demand – and expand its scope – if it comes out of Intel and raised its own capital.
Spinout plans laid out last year and obtained approval from the former CEO of Intel Pat Gelsiner. The company is now independent and raised a $ 50 million financing round of Intel Capital and other strategic investors to start alone.
“For me, it was exciting, to be honest,” said Urbach. “I am a veteran executive manager in the company, but this is the first time that I am, as you know, I was on the other side of the table. It was a very modest experience for me as an executive president for the first time to go and raise money.”
RealSense will put the capital towards building the market for the market and making improvements to its technology. The company focuses in particular on improving technology so that it can help improve safety during human and robot reactions and improve access control.
Urbach said: “There is an educational curve, as you know, they go out.” “I am very excited about it. I am lucky that there is a very strong team with many people in my team with experience in the field of entrepreneurship. I feel that with my background, with some of his strong teammates, I think we have the right mix of success. For me, the dream has become true.”
