Touching on themes of shared compassion between peoples and the US political system that insulates people in power like US President Donald Trump and lawmakers in Congress from the will of voters, the song’s chorus says: “The same sun shines, but we live in hell; while the leaders ring the funeral bell.”
“I love the people, but the regime must stop,” the chorus continues, “From Tehran to the capital, we scream for peace.”
The music video argues that the lack of peace is not a reflection of what the American people want, but comes from the country’s leaders motivated by profits, wealth, and geopolitical power.

While the images show Iranians suffering in food lines and terrified by American and Israeli bombs falling on cities, the message the Iranian production team is sending behind the video is that the Iranian people do not blame the American people for their government’s bad behavior.
It’s not you, America. They are the ones who lead you.

The “peace” that concludes the song is not for the benefit of the “leaders” who wage war, but for the benefit of the “innocent souls” harmed by war and “the next” in future generations.
Saturday’s new video builds on an earlier video filmed earlier in the week that pivots away from simply mocking Trump and criticizing Israelis for their aggression by focusing more on trying to reach the American people who oppose the war and are also hurt by it.
Drop Site News noted that the earlier video, released Thursday, invokes “the 1953 CIA-backed coup against Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh,” “points out the human cost of sanctions,” and “draws a parallel between Iranian and American workers” — all to break through potential barriers of understanding between civilians in the United States and those living under the ravages of war in Iran.
“They want us to hate, they want a wall made of glass,” the songs say. “But we are just victims of the ruling class.”
