As an American, my point of view may be different. In my country, the acceptable path is long and tight: goes to the kidney, marries, marries, purchases a house, has 2.5 children, raised them, then retires. Only then, after you put in your time, can you enjoy the fruits of your business. Society links you and restricts your moves to their expectations.

People may want to travel, tell you that they envy what you are doing, and they say they wish they can do the same. But they never do. Few people mobilize the courage to take a leap, regardless of how much they are attracted. They are simply fascinated by a lifestyle outside the base.

Although social media, the rise of digital nomads, and sites like this made you leave your business to travel around the world or teach English in Thailand a little more, the general position continues to “follow the path if you want to be normal.”
