Trunyan Hill is an underestimated height in Bali with amazing views of Mount Abang and Batur Caldera. It looks like a modern scene!
This corridor is located near the famous Mount Batur volcano, but it is less crowded and most foreign tourists are not yet known.
I recently rose and it was a great experience, with a lot of challenge and some of the best landscapes on the island.
This guide will explain everything about how to do the increase and what can be expected!

TrailHead: How to get there
Located in Kintamani in the northeast of Bali.
An hour or two by car from tourist places such as UBud, Sanur, Canggu or Kuta in southern Bali. Be careful because the last part of the road is zigzag, very slope, rugged with drilling.
There are two possible start -up sites for hiking:
- In the village of Tronyan. This is the main way and it is what you used. The corridor starts from a narrow alley in the center of the village of Tronyan, and it features a road mark. Map here.
- Above the village of Tronyan. This is to track the alternative to the top of the hill. If you start here, the corridor is slightly easier because it flying about 2 kilometers of walking long and 200 meters than earning height, but it takes a little more than driving because it is outside Caldira. The height to Tronyan is very slope and difficult, and there are a lot of opportunities to harm the ankle if you are not careful, but they are not dangerous in terms of declines.
Poles of errors is a must: there are some mosquitoes in the forest, and a leg of flies faced on the surfaces of the hill. They are aggressors and can bite! Kintamani is the only place in Bali where I saw such annoying flies.
On the positive side, I went on Saturday and the entire path was amazing. It was a great contradiction with the huge crowds of Mount Pator at the present time. I only met a foreign couple with a guide, a handful of friendly local teenagers.
The most severe sections of the corridor have some ropes to seize them. It is not necessary, but it may be useful if you want to give your legs a break.

When I climbed, I was able to hear the faint sounds of Hindu celebrations and prayers drifting from the village below, adding an interesting atmosphere to the trip.
It took me about two hours to reach the top of the Trunyan hill because I stopped a group of times along the way. The wandering can do the fastest within 1.5 hours, but I think most people can expect to take 2-3 hours.
The hill summit has amazing 360 -degree views from Jabal Abang, Lake Batour and even Mount Agong at the distance.
My favorite part is the huge cliff wall of Apang, and the valley below. It seems that the Torin Valley is on Mount Ranjani.

• Part 2: Mount walking for long distances
After you get to the top of Bukit Trunyan, if you still have energy and want to continue, you can walk throughout the way to the top of Mount Abang, the third highest mountain in Bali.
However, you should go at least until you reach the saddle between Tronyan and Abang, as it contains some amazing landscapes in the entire height.
The corridor becomes more surface after this point, so be very careful and see your step. There are huge declines on both sides of the trail, and A local infiltrator fell and died here in 2024.

As of 2025, there are no entry fees to lift Trunyan, but they ask a donation of a small registration booth near Trailhead. I was given 30 thousand rupees and that was fine.
No evidence is required and no one asked me to employ one, but this may change at any time, especially if the height becomes more popular.
Kintamani is famous for the disadvantaged, such as the mafia who compel you to use a guide in places like Mount Batur and even Mount Abang, so I think it is a matter of time only before trying to put the same rule for this height.

The best time to go
The best time to do this height is during the dehydration season in Bali, which generally lasts from April to October.
I went in mid -April and it seems perfect. The corridor was not wet or very muddy, but it is also not dry or dust.
As for the crowd, the corridor is usually very busy, but I am trying to avoid Indonesian holidays.
In my opinion, the best time of the day to go is in sunrise. I started a little on the late side, and when I go the next time I will make sure to get there early.
Sanor left at 5 am, arrived at the road at 7 am, and arrived at the Tronyan Summit at 9 am. This has succeeded, but I missed the sunrise and barely overcomed the clouds that tend to cover Kentamani after the morning.
