The ruin bars are all anger in Budapest and have been present since the establishment of Szimpla Kert, Mecca of all ruin bars, in 2002. These bars were built in the old district neighborhood of Budapest (ancient Jewish district) in the ruins of abandoned buildings, stores or many. This neighborhood was left to analyze after the Second World War, so it was an ideal place to develop an underground bar. These places were outside the defeated path, rough around the edges, and meeting the needs of artists, students and alternative people.
But they became very popular and well known by 2010 and have drivers, although their preparation has not changed.
From the outside, these bars look like regular buildings. They have no significant signs that indicate the road, and do not hear any noise loudly, and there is no line waiting to enter. But as soon as you enter and enter the inner courtyard, you find yourself in the middle of the thigh and the arts, the unconventional ancient wandering with the crowds that speak, dancing, and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere. The great guards, along with the published signs, guarantee that people are calm on their way so that they do not bother the neighbors.
Each of these ruin bars has their own personality, but they all follow some basic principles: Look for an abandoned old place, rent them, prepare a tape, fill them with the furniture of the used commodity market, and a few artists come to leave their mark on the walls and ceiling, add some strange antiques, alcohol service, and watch people who flow.
When you are in these bars, you feel that you drink in the local savings store. Not any of the furniture matches. Everything is old. It is selective. It seems like they just looted your grandmother’s house. All ceilings are designed differently and places are not fixed or fixed, and there are still holes in the walls and visible tubes everywhere.

Everyone I take here says it is one of the most wonderful bars that they have gone at all. If you just visit one tape, make it this.
Major
Grandio is a ruin bar and descended in one. It is famous for its external annihilation full of trees, but it is often full of travelers and people on crawling because it is a home for hazelnut as well. This is a good place to start your night and meet other travelers. During the day, you can find the locals relax here with a drink in the garden. It is not just noisy like other bars, and because it is smaller, it contains a slightly relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
Dorr
A former university building, which is the ruin and music bar, allows you to benefit from an internal university student and you drink some beer while playing football, Ping-Pong, arrows, and a French game called Pétanque (it’s fun). The yard garden is a good place to enjoy all the live music that occurs in this bar. The space is really large and there is a lot of activity here. In addition, I love how art and paintings on the wall.
Fogas instant complex
The instant fogas complex is located in a full residential building and the largest ruin bar in the city. There are more than 20 rooms, 18 different bar, multiple dance floors, and two gardens. It is one of the most ruin bars that resemble the club. In a moment, you can sit in one day individual apartments and relax on the furniture that appears to be found on the street. They dropped many walls to connect the apartments and provide a space for DJ and dance. Looking at its popularity and the fact that it is a “club” more, the drinks here are a little more expensive than other destroyed bars. If you want to dance away at night, this is the right righteous for you.

I am not quite sure if this place fits the culture of the ruin bar. It was a lot of the gorge and the more step than the other bars you visited. It was like being in a “real” tape. However, I was moved there as part of the Ruin Bar tour, and no matter that, I loved this place. You walk in the yard and receive a tree with a red -eyes robot connected to it. It seems that the converter is about to attack you. There are two main rooms: one is red, and the other is blue. They play a lot of dance music, and fill this place at the end of the night. The only downside is that it contains more limited opening hours than other bars.
Mazel Tov
This is one of the latest ruin bars in Budapest. Mazel Tov (located in the old Jewish neighborhood) is the center and a community restaurant that serves traditional Jewish food daily. At night, The Courtyard is a party with DJ and direct entertainment guests. There is also a restaurant here. I will not call this “ruin bar” in the traditional sense, but it is a nice atmosphere, the decor is beautiful, and it has great drinks. He is more educated than others, so don’t expect “rough and stumbling”.
Cafe and silent bar
If you are looking for a more ready atmosphere to balance the party atmosphere for some other ruin bars but do not want to sacrifice the wonderful old aesthetic, this is the tape for you. It is located directly in the heart of Budapest and is the ideal place to relax and share drinks with friends or settle on an evening of conversation. The tape also offers food and contains the Wi-Fi network, so you will often find that the Bedouin Bedouins are mixed here.
Budapest may sell itself on history and thermal bathrooms, but the ruin bars are largely the most unique thing in this city.
