Lucid Air owners will be able to use Tesla Superchargers from July 31

The owners of the Lucid Air sedan will be able to impose luxury EVS fees in thousands of Tesla Supercharger stations in North America starting July 31, nearly two years ago since the delivery of auto manufacturers. But there is a noticeable warning: clear air vehicles will not be able to charge Tesla vehicles.

Lucid said on Tuesday that all Air Lucid sedans, regardless of the typical year, will be able to access the Tesla network of fast charging devices with an approved adapter costing $ 220. Tesla V3 (and above) stations are compatible with a clear air transformer.

However, the air will not be able to charge only 50 kW, which is much lower than the peak rate of 250 kW provided by this super charger. The issue stems from the incompatibility between the Lucid 924-Volt charging system and the Tesla Superchargers 400V charger. You cannot get clear, and any other EV with 800 volts charging systems, simply as soon as they can be with charger designed for them, like Consumer reports Notes.

Andrew Hashi, a spokesman for Lucid, explained that the engineers reuse devices in the integrated air charging system, named Wunderbox, to make the system run and stimulate charging 50 kW when using a super Shahhan. He added that Lucid looks at 50 kilowatts of charging for air as another option for the owners on Roadtrips, living or working near the super charger.

Unlike Lucid Gravity Suv, which was launched earlier this year, the air is still built with the joint charging system (CCS). CCS has been considered an EV charging standard in North America and is used by all car manufacturers, with the exception of one noticeable. Tesla has developed its charging standard, which includes the built -in charging port on the car in addition to the EV. In 2022, Tesla shared the design of EV in an attempt to encourage network and auto industries to adopt technology, and to help make it the new standard in North America.

Tesla calls the standard with North America charging standard, or NACS. In May 2023, Ford became the first auto industry company to reach an agreement with Tesla that would allow EV owners to access the SuperCharger network. The current Ford EV owners will use a transformer to use the Tesla network. But Ford – soon every other auto maker, including General Motors, Revyan, Honda, Mercedes, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, agreed that the future EVS will get the NACS Charging Port in its cars.

Lucid was among the last companies that concluded a deal with Tesla. Like others, Lucid announced that the next EV, The Gravity Suv, will have a built -in NACS.
