The latest teaser for the upcoming animated adventure DC League of Super-Pets has Batman concerned about regulated merchandise and Krypto the Superdog crying to Taylor Swift. Released via the official Twitter account for Warner Bros. Pictures, the footage from DC League of Super-Pets promises to heroes, villains, drama, and everything else we might need when it lands in theaters later this month.
In DC League of Super-Pets, Krypto the Super-Dog and Superman are inseparable best friends, sharing the same superpowers and fighting crime in Metropolis side by side. When the Man of Steel and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto must convince a rag-tag shelter pack—Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel—to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.

DC League of Super-Pets has amassed a stellar cast to bring to life both the human heroes and villains and their animal sidekicks. The animated DC outing is led by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Krypto AKA Bark Kent AKA Superdog, a Kryptonian Labrador Retriever and Superman’s dog, and Kevin Hart as Ace AKA Bat-Hound, a Boxer with super strength and invulnerability who later becomes Batman’s dog.
Backing them up are Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live) as Lulu, a hairless guinea pig; Vanessa Bayer (Trainwreck) as PB, a potbellied pig who acquires the ability to grow and shrink in scale and the pet of Wonder Woman; Natasha Lyonne (Show Dogs) as Merton, a turtle who acquires super speed and the Flash’s pet; Diego Luna (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Chip, a squirrel and the pet of Green Lantern who acquires electrokinesis; and finally Thomas Middleditch (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) as a white Guinea pig recruited by Lulu.

Director Jared Stern has stated that DC League of Super-Pets will bring the drama as well as the laughs, with the filmmaker aspiring to create a valid superhero movie. “I wanted it to be a real threat that you felt lived up to not just a goofy movie, but a real serious superhero threat – but also one that uniquely can only be solved by a group of pets,” Stern said. “I really wanted people to come away from this movie feeling like animation is a technique and not a genre. I wanted them to feel like, ‘That was a really great superhero movie and it had everything I love in a superhero movie: It had great action, was really fun.'”
DC League of Super-Pets is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on July 29, 2022, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
